Aerobic methane oxidation coupled to denitrification and Cr(VI) removal

12/2014 -12/2015

Aerobic methane oxidation is completing by aerobic methanotrophs oxidizing methane and releasing soluble organic compounds which can be used by coexisting denitrifiers. MBfR reactor has been set for studying the feasibility, effect factors, intermediate products of methane oxidation and microbial population.

Recovering catalyst Pd from simulation water and use it as catalyst fulfilling chemical denitrification and biological denitrifying in hydrogen-based MBfR

9/2015-1/2017

Verify the possibility of reduction of Pd(II) from wastewater containing palladiumby using hydrogen bacteria.

Observe the construction of sponge Pd(0) by SEM,

Verify the possibility that Pd can be the catalyst of denitrification and dechlorination by H2 directly without microorganism.

Recently the promotion in denitrification and dechlorination by Pd catalysis in hydrogen-based MBfR is in process.

Removing chlorophenols( focusing on PCP) from simulation water in hydrogen-based MBfR

9/2015-1/2017

Verify the possibility of reduction of PCP from wastewater by using hydrogen bacteria. The intermediate products have been detected and the functional microorganismhas been confirmed.
